AEM ending support of Series 1 ECU

Support will end Dec. 2014

Contributed By: Enginebasics.com

AEM has announced that they will be ending support for the Series 1 ECU at the end of the 2014 year.  While many might be upset about a product they bought a decade ago losing support, really it makes sense for both the user and the company.  I can’t imagine people sending their desktop computer into apple and asking for support and repairs.  Apple would most likely laugh and respond about “how we haven’t produced parts for that model in years!”

So where does that leave us?  Well AEM has offered a trade in program for old series 1 ECU’s to upgrade to the new Series 2 platform.  They are offering $100 dollars off the purchase of a series 2 or $125 for the purchase of AEM’s new INFINITY units.  For many AEM EMS users out there still on the old platform, this offers itself a great excuse to upgrade to the new platform and take advantage of all it offers with its many fail safe options, flex fuel tuning, and faster processer.

In conclusion it’s been a good run with the series 1.  It was one of the first affordable stand-alone engine management solutions offered and started to change the tuning scene immediately when people were no longer relying on piggy back ECU’s and flash tunes.  With full control over the ignition and fueling of the motor, the words RELIABLE and POWER were once again realized in the tuning world.  Its been a good run Series 1 ECU, and many of us will miss ya.

No better time to upgrade to a Series 2 ECU or an AEM Infinity ECU. Pricing is competative on both:
